RE: Economics One O One.
Wall Street had to go bust, so they would have a way to cover the 35% of your 401 they stole from you. Do you really believe all that money you gave them was invested where they told it was. Its the same as betting a horse with a bookie, who knows there is no way that horse can win. HE POCKETS THE BET! There is a bright side to all of this. It will be a cold day in ---- before they put Social Security into the Stock Market. I still think Enron was just a clearing house for stolen funds.
RE: What or who do you blame for the financial crisis?
Come on, Think about it. Were gonna retire, we want our 401's, they don,t have the money, so they Merril Lynch, etc. etc. have found a clever way to only pay you 65 persent of your investment. And don't forget what you lost after 911.
RE: Drawer Slide Sockets
Cut two 3/4 by 1 inch pieces of wood such as a furring strip and place one on each side of rails. put a 1/2 in. screw in each rail. you will probably see the holes are already. Now what you have done is boxed them in, only now they are supported not only by the******plastic brackets, but they sit on the floor of the unit. This is how I solved the problem. If you could have seen how my drawers were mounted, you would not believe it. But my way would jack the price of your rig up another three bucks.
RE: Squeaking dinning table
We had the same setup, and for less than twenty dollars I got a Pedistal and took the table off the wall brackets . Works great, and no more kicking that darn leg getting in and out.It took about fifteen minutes to install.
RE: 10 Billion miles less
They have found out that at 4.50 a gal, we stay home or closer to it. Now they will lower the price ever so slowly to see at what price we will travel again. If you want to see prices below 3.00, we need to stay home just a little longer. Its not only the lost tax revenue, but the empty city parking lots are hurting the citys as well. So you see people still have a little power and control. If we choose to use it.
RE: FT Inusrance drop! Anybody else??
We just switched from All State to Progressive this year and we have more coverage now and our premium for 1 year went down $278.00. Always, if you can do it, pay in full for the year you will always save.
RE: How often do you do it?
We have a s/b (up for sale), a MH, a summer home. But you know what I like best? People with a sense of humor, and you all fit the bill perfectly. Thanks for the laughs. Oh, can't get enough, camping that is.
RE: RV sales down -- Recession on the way?
Sounds good to me. The fewer people there are buying RV's and traveling the more open CG spaces there will be. Hopefully.
And what happens when the CG's start loosing money, they will sell their property to developers for high-rise condos
And who is going to buy them. This is the late 70's all over again. That was my generations wake up call, and this is yours. They built alot of condo's in Florida in the seventy's and they sat empty till the 80's. Wait till all our veterans return home, (which can't be soon enough) and see what happens to the unemployment rate.Post Viet Nam all over again. History Does Repeat Itself if you let it.
Greed will always raise it's ugly head, and bite you in the butt!
Thas why the market is so jittery, they know the Dems. are going to end this war, and the cash flow it has created. Wake up People
RE: How many of us are waiting for the SOLD sign?
Northshore, Your saying what I've been saying. Lending Institutions are the reason for this dilema we're in. We who have been financially responsible for our own finances are now paying the price for those who have not, buying what they could not afford just cause they gave them the money. Our house on the market for a year next month, but not to worry It will sell someday. Congrates to all who are now where we are hoping to be SOON. I have been following this post and you have all given me great hopes again.
RE: The Top Six Best Class C's? And the worst?
Well there has been only one mention of Coachman on this topic, so I'll add a second. We have a 2004 Freedom that my wife would fight you for. It is everything we hoped it would be. Never had a problem with anything. Its on a Chevy chassis, with the 6.0 Vortic, and it will take you any where you want to go. The Tow-Haul mode is great in the mountains. The 11 mpg. is not hard to take either. I would not suggest a slide out to anyone, simply because of the extra weight, and the horror stories I've heard of them getting stuck in the out position. When you read these traids, you will notice Its like Coachman doesn't exist. Its the old idea If it less than 100,000 it can't be any good. Well you asked for the top six, so I would have to rate Coachman in the top five at least.
I want to say I'm sorry to my fellow Coachman owners, for letting the cat out of the bag, but we can't keep it a secret forever, its just not right.
RE: RV shows
The miss,s and I have been going to Rosemont RV show for about 18 yrs. Finally brought a 04 couchman freedom in o4. Now we try to find something better. Seems the only thing that changes are colors. We look, and leave satisfied knowing theres nothing else we need. Waiting for the day they get rid of those ugly patterns, and offer 20 mpg. Be to old to drive by then,LOL. 45 days and counting
RE: Happy New Year my fellow C'ers
Happy New Year :Band Happy Trails to all.90 days and counting till the end of March. Only 45 days till the Camping Show in Rosemont.
RE: Living without slide..................
We have a 27' 04 Coachman with a huge slide room...it's called an AWNING. It always retracts (unlke horror stories of real slides getting stuck). We put two comfy chairs and a folding table out and DH enjoys the outdoors while I do the domestic things inside. He's never under foot and I can join him faster. We are not full timers yet, waiting for house to sell like a million others, but we have traveled some and this lifetyle seems to agree with both of us.Just waiting for the day.
